Aim    
To gain an understanding of social policy work in relation to employment rights.

The seminar will

  • Focus on a number of social policy issues impacting on worker's rights.
  • Review mechanisms for redress from the perspective of policy-makers.

Learning Outcomes
Participants will

  • learn how to identify social policy issues and write up case reports.
  • gain a better understanding of actions that can be taken at local level by CISs.
  • familiarise themselves with redress mechanisms, including how NERA, the National Employment Rights Authority, operates.
  • learn how to monitor the outcome of cases.
