Aim
To ensure that information providers can deal effectively
with certain queries on education and training for adults
and can refer customers as appropriate to relevant guidance
services or education / training providers
Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course participants should be able
to:
- outline the aim and conditions relating to the Youthreach programme and VTOS scheme
- identify the aim, referral and entry arrangements and also the conditions relating to training programmes for specific groups e.g. people with disabilities
- explain the regulations and payment rates relating to Back to Education Allowance
- outline the main categories of training and placement programmes operated by FAS and their entry requirements and conditions.
- outline in broad terms the application procedure for students entering Further Education (PLCs) and Third Level Education in Ireland and the grants/ allowances available
- describe the public guidance services for adults in Ireland seeking to enter training or education programmes
- refer customers to relevant guidance services or education / training providers
