Aim    
To ensure that information providers, particularly those working in CISs, increase their capacity to respond to queries from individuals and families who have been affected by drug/alcohol misuse and related issues.  

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course participants should be able to:

  • demonstrate a heightened awareness of a broad range of substance related issues
  • explain the approach that is currently used in providing information and support to those affected
  • demonstrate the necessary skills to deal with queries emerging in a substance related context
  • outline the relevant resources and support services in the region in order to deal effectively with queries from those affected by drug/alcohol misuse or make appropriate referrals.
