Aim    
To examine the Habitual Residency Condition in the context of social welfare and supplementary welfare for provision of information, advice, advocacy in submitting an appeal.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course participants should be able to:-

  • outline the Habitual Residency Guidelinesand implementation practice within SW and SWA
  • explain information on Habitual Residency Guidelinesincluding accessing websites and forms
  • advise and assist clients on Habitual Residency Guidelines including accessing the SW operational guidelines, collating relevant information and documentary evidence
  • advise to advocate ib behalf of client where a payment is refused on Habitual Residency Guidelinesgrounds including seeking a review, seeking an appeal, compiling a submission.
