Courses at Level 2 are for Information Providers who have completed the Information Providers Programme (IPP) and have a good understanding of the course topic or have at least one year's experience of giving information to the public.

Aim    
This training aims to provide participants with a basic understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act 2004; and the Private Residential Tenancies Board (P.R.T.B). The course also aims to provide participants with an understanding as to the statutory rights and duties of tenants.

Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course participants should be able to:

  • deal with queries relating to RAS (Rental Accommodation Scheme)
  • outline the implications of the Residential Tenancies Act 2004 on tenants.
  • advise clients on the termination (eviction) process and where to submit a complaint under the legislation (P.R.T.B)
  • advise on how to get on the housing List
  • outline the different housing schemes
  • communicate information on the process of repossession
  • outline landlord's rights  and duties in relation to letting
  • outline tenant's rights  and duties in relation to tenancy
  • advise on how to get out of a tenancy agreement
  • advise on how to get a deposit back
