Information Providers Programme (FETAC Accredited, level 6)
The Citizens Information Board delivers the Information Providers Programme (IPP) to support and enable information providers to provide a quality information service in the community as a paid or volunteer information provider.
This programme is validated by FETAC (Further Education and Training Awards Council), which is designated at level 6 on the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland (NQAI) framework. The programme is comprised of two locally devised modules:
- L32072 Information Advice and Advocacy Practice
- L32073 Social and Civil Information
There are a number of ways to participate on the programme each appropriate to the particular learner.
- Taught accredited programmes delivered in a taught classroom situation.
- Distance learning as a flexible approach for learners to gain accreditation. It is especially suitable for learners who cannot access a classroom-based programme.
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) The Citizens Information Board offers accredited recognition of prior learning as another approach for experienced information providers to gain accreditation. RPL is the process through which a learner can demonstrate that they already have the appropriate knowledge and skills to warrant the granting of an award.

Clár Soláthróirí Faisnéise (FETAC Creidiúnaithe, Leibhéal 6)
Seachadann an Bord um Fhaisnéis do Shaoránaigh an Clár Soláthróirí Faisnéise (CSF) chun tacú le heolas agus a chur ar cumas solathróirí faisnéise seirbhís eolais cháilíochta a chur ar fáil sa phobal mar sholáthróir faisnéise deonach nó íoctha.
Tá an clár seo faofa ag FETAC (Comhairle na nDamhachtainí Breisoideachais agus Oiliúna) atá sainithe ag leibhéal 6 ar chreat Údarás Cáilíochta Náisiúnta na hÉireann (ÚCNÉ) Tá an clár déanta suas de dhá mhodhúl a ceapadh go háitiúil:
- L32072 Cleachtas Aighneachta agus Comhairle Eolais
- L32073 Eolas Sóisialta agus Sibhialta
Tá roinnt bhealaí chun páirt a ghlacadh sa chlár gach ceann acu mar is cuí don fhoghlaimeoir faoi leith.
- Cláir chreidiúnaithe mhúinte á seachadadh i suíomh seomra ranga múinte.
- Cianfhoghlaim mar chur chuige solúbach d'fhoghlaimeoirí chun creidiúnú a ghnóthú. Tá sé oiriúnach go háirithe d'fhoghlaimeoirí nach féidir clár bunaithe sa seomra ranga a rochtain.
- Aitheantas ar Réamhfhoghlaim(ARF) Tugann an Bord um Fhaisnéis do Shaoránaigh aitheantas creidiúnaithe do réamhfhoghlaim mar chur chuige eile do sholáthroirí faisnéise le taithí chun creidiúnú a ghnóthú. Próiseas is ea Aitheantas Réamhfhoghlama trínar féidir leis an bhfoghlaimeoir a thaispeáint go bhfuil an t-eolas agus na scileanna cuí acu cheana chun dámhachtain a ghnóthú.
